Class Size: 10 students
Support Staff: 3-4 Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) per class
A SEN Teacher is urgently required for an Autism Provision in Lambeth, supporting a class of 10 students with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). The role is supported by 3-4 LSAs in the classroom, providing you with strong support to create an engaging and effective learning environment. The ideal candidate will have significant experience working with children with Autism, as well as the confidence and adaptability to step into this specialist role immediately.
Key Responsibilities for the SEN Teacher:
- Deliver tailored lessons that cater to the individual needs of students with Autism, ensuring both academic and behavioural goals are met.
- Work collaboratively with LSAs to offer targeted support, enhancing the learning experience for all students.
- Demonstrate effective behaviour management skills to maintain a calm and structured classroom environment.
- Show a deep understanding of Autism, adapting teaching methods and resources to suit the varying needs and abilities of students.
- Liaise with parents, carers, and external professionals to ensure student's educational and developmental progress.

Requirements for the SEN Teacher:
- Previous experience as an SEN Teacher, ideally within an Autism provision or a similar SEN environment.
