ROLE-SEN Teacher
Location: Tameside, Greater Manchester
Start Date: ASAP
Pay: £135-£195 per day (DOE) - PAYE or Umbrella
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm
Contract: Long-Term with Temp-to-Perm Opportunity
Reeson Education is seeking a resilient, nurturing, and committed SEN Teacher to join a specialist SEND school in Tameside. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity for an SEN Teacher who is passionate about supporting pupils with SEMH needs and EHCPs, with the potential for the role to become permanent for the right SEN Teacher.
This SEN Teacher role involves teaching pupils in Years 7-11 within small classes of 2-5 students, following a primary-style curriculum model. The successful SEN Teacher will focus heavily on pastoral support, emotional regulation, and practical, physical learning activities within a trauma-informed, nurturing environment.
As an SEN Teacher, you will work closely with experienced TAs, SLT, and support staff, benefiting from strong leadership support, purchased schemes of work, and flexibility to tailor timetables to meet pupils' needs.
SEN Teacher - Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, inclusive lessons as an SEN Teacher across Years 7-11
- Teach core curriculum subjects using a primary-style approach
- Support pupils with SEMH needs, EHCPs, and challenging behaviour
- Embed pastoral interventions, emotional regulation, and wellbeing support
- Create a safe, consistent, and nurturing learning environment as an SEN Teacher
- Use trauma-informed and relationship-based strategies
- Adapt teaching to meet individual needs within small class settings
- Work collaboratively with TAs, SLT, and wider professionals
- Track progress and contribute to EHCP targets as an SEN Teacher
- Always maintain strong safeguarding practice
SEN Teacher - Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Proven experience working as an SEN Teacher or within SEMH/SEND settings
- Experience teaching pupils with EHCPs and challenging behaviour
- Confidence teaching Years 7-11 using a primary curriculum model
- Calm, consistent, resilient, and nurturing approach
- Strong behaviour management and pastoral skills
- Primary-trained teachers are highly encouraged to apply for this SEN Teacher role
