I am currently recruiting for a SEN Teacher - Sensory Impairment to work with pupils with a range of learning needs specifically focused on multi-sensory impairments. This will be covering a maternity contract of a year starting at October half term.
SEN Teacher - Sensory Impairment - Skills and Abilities
I am looking for outstanding practitioners who are experienced advisory teachers with mandatory qualifications in teaching children with multi-sensory impairment, hearing impairment or vision impairment ideally but the school knows that these people are rare and are keen to hear from teachers who have limited experience in these areas.
You will need experience teaching students with sensory impairments such as visual (VI), hearing (HI) or both (MSI).
The ideal SEN Teacher - Sensory Impairment applicant would have the following attributes:

* Able to work effectively in a team
* Highly organised and able to plan and deliver and reflect on an Outstanding lesson
* Committed to working in partnership with families and other professionals
* Have Sign Language skills or are willing to develop these
The school are looking for a teacher who is able to complete paperwork such as medium-term/
short-term lesson planning, assessments using Bsquared, write reports for annual reviews and evaluate/set new individualised targets, as well as complete written risk assessments and other individualised student written plans.

They will offer a structured framework of induction and support, including a strong continuing professional development programme, good ICT facilities, resources and excellent teaching and administrative support. Classes follow a developmental curriculum and there is significant groundwork in place already to ensure that the new appointee hits the ground running and is set up to play a significant role in the future success of the service. The teacher is expected to co-ordinate personal care plans and liaise with the therapy teams. All classes have 1:1 Teaching Assistants to support each pupil in their development under the direction of the class teacher. All of the TAs on the school staff are well trained specialists who know the children and are fully trained in meeting their needs.
