Reeson Education is recruiting for a committed and versatile SEN Teacher to join a small nurture-focused unit supporting pupils from Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 4. Based in Swinton, this is a full-time position starting in September 2025, or earlier if available, with a clear pathway to a permanent role for the right person.
The provision caters to pupils with a range of social, emotional, and learning needs, offering personalised support and academic structure in a safe and inclusive environment. Class sizes are small and supported by experienced Teaching Assistants to allow for tailored interventions and relational practice.
SEN Teacher - Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver Maths and English lessons confidently across KS2 to KS4 levels
- Teach additional subjects such as PSHE and Humanities where required
- Work with small class sizes (typically 3-5 pupils) in a nurture setting
- Create a calm and structured classroom atmosphere that supports emotional regulation
- Collaborate with support staff and senior leaders to monitor progress and adapt planning
- Support the holistic development of pupils, including social skills and emotional wellbeing
SEN Teacher - Person Specification:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or equivalent - primary or secondary trained)
- Experience with SEMH, ASD, MLD or pupils with other complex needs
- Confident teaching both English and Maths across a wide range of ages and levels
- Calm, adaptive and patient in approach
- Able to form strong, trusting relationships with vulnerable learners
- Committed to the long-term development of pupils beyond academic outcomes
