Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a new role? Are you confident supporting pupils with ASD on a 1-1 basis within a mainstream class setting?

REESON Education is recruiting for an experienced and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a fabulous Team in one of our Central Southwark partner schools. The role will be on an ongoing supply basis starting Term 2 until the end of the school year in July. For the right candidate, there may be the possibility of being asked to return to the school for a second year in September 2022.

The role will be working on a 1-1 basis with a Year 1 student diagnosed with ASD. The pupil works to an EHCP and requires dedicated, ongoing support throughout the school day. The child's behaviour is of a good standard however they need a lot of attention to ensure they remain focused and on task throughout lessons.

As the dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant for the pupil, you will be responsible for supporting their integration into the class. You will supervise lunch and play breaks alongside lesson time to ensure the child feels included and part of the year group. You will also meet regularly with the SENDCO, Class Teacher and parents to discuss progress and plans of action to support improvement.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1 year's UK experience as an Teaching Assistant either in a SEND or mainstream school setting. The school is also keen to hear from recent Graduates who may have relevant voluntary work experience and who are interested in pursuing a career within education.

Successful applicants must be able to provide 2 recent, education based references as well as have a current, in date enhanced DBS check.

Paid trial days for this SEN Teaching Assistant role can be arranged in the coming weeks for successful applicants and rates of pay can be negotiated based on experience.
