A well-established and inclusive primary school in Islington is seeking a passionate and reliable SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September. This is a fantastic opportunity to support pupils with special educational needs across Early Years and Key Stage 1, and to play a meaningful role in their development and learning journey.
You'll be working closely with the class teacher and SENCo to support students with additional needs, including autism (ASD), speech and language difficulties, and ADHD, delivering tailored interventions and helping pupils to access the curriculum in a nurturing environment.
The school prides itself on its warm ethos, supportive leadership, and collaborative staff team. It's a great opportunity for a Teaching Assistant with a strong understanding of SEN who is looking for long-term development within a primary setting.
The successful candidate will have:
Proven experience supporting children with SEN in a school or similar environment
A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting young learners
Confidence in delivering interventions and supporting learning 1:1 or in small groups
A strong understanding of child development and inclusive education
The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
If you are committed to helping children overcome barriers to learning and thrive both academically and emotionally, we would love to hear from you.
