SEN Teaching Assistant | East London | ASAP Start | £82.14-£100 per day
Reeson Education is working with a welcoming primary school in the borough of Waltham Forest to find a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children with additional needs across areas including Walthamstow, Leyton, Leytonstone, Chingford, Highams Park, and Woodford.
The Role: As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll work closely with pupils who have a range of special educational needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and Speech & Language difficulties. You'll be supporting children on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, helping them access the curriculum and thrive in their learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting pupils with SEN across EYFS to KS2
- Delivering tailored interventions and strategies for children with EHCP plans
- Working collaboratively with teachers and the SENCO
- Building positive relationships with pupils and promoting their social and emotional development
- Adapting resources and activities to meet individual learning needs
What We're Looking For:
- Experience working with children with SEN in a school or educational setting
- A patient, nurturing approach with strong behaviour management skills
- Knowledge of strategies for supporting ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or Speech & Language needs
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
- Desirable: Training in PECS, Makaton, or sensory strategies
