Are you passionate about supporting young people with special educational needs? We're recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive secondary school in St Helens. This is a full-time role starting immediately, ideal for someone with experience in SEN or a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of young people.
🎯 Key Responsibilities:
Providing 1:1 and small group support for students with SEND, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties
Assisting the class teacher in delivering tailored lessons and learning activities
Supporting students with emotional regulation, social skills, and engagement
Working closely with the SENCO, teaching staff, and parents/carers
Helping to maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
✅ Requirements:
Experience working with secondary-aged pupils with SEN (preferred but not essential)
Strong behaviour management and communication skills
A patient, caring, and resilient attitude
Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE, NVQ, TA Level 2/3, or equivalent) are beneficial
