This diverse multi-cultural school, located in the ideal location of Hammersmith and Fulham is seeking a SENCO to join their friendly forward thinking team after February Half term.

In your role as a SENCO you will be expected to ensure that Special Educational Needs (SEN) provision is both efficiently and effectively managed. The SENDCo will lead the strategic development of the school's Special Educational Needs (SEND) provision and oversight of the day-to-day operation of that policy with the aim of raising SEND pupil achievement.

The Role

The SENCO will take day-to-day responsibility for the operation of the SEN policy and coordination of the provision made for individual children with SEN, working closely with staff, parents and carers, and other agencies. The successful SENCO will have teaching time with small groups of SEN children and will also provide related professional guidance to colleagues with the aim of securing high quality teaching for children with SEN.


The role will include Intervention Groups and if not already done so - the successful candidate will need to study for the SENCO Qualification.

This role would be best suited to an experienced SEN teacher looking for a step up in responsibility. It is key that they you are able to demonstrate a good knowledge of existing SEN policy, statistics and regulations. The ideal candidate will be resilient, with excellent behaviour management skills.

As SENCO, you will co-ordinate additional support for pupils with SEN and liaise with their parents, teachers and other professionals. The position involves taking a lead role in assessing children, and where necessary making a request of the LEA for a Statutory Assessment which may result in a Statement of SEN.
