A SENCO is needed in a Mixed Secondary School & Sixth Form in South West London.

This will be a full time permanent SENCO position.

If appointed as a SENCO, you will support the Assistant Principal in Learning Support.

Duties and responsibilities for this SENCO post will include but not be limited to:

  • Ensuring Academy practice is compliant with the SEND Code of Practice (2014) and other relevant statutory requirements
  • Working with the Academy Leadership team when it comes to the implementation of the Academy SEND Policy
  • Tracking the progress of students with SEND, using a wide range of Academy data relating to progress, attainment, referrals, exclusions, detentions and attendance to identify barriers to learning
  • Deploying staff and resources according to the needs of SEND students
  • Writing a termly report to the Governing body on progress and developments

The salary for this SENCO role will be between £56915 and £64361, depending on the qualifications and experiences of each applicant.

An 'Outstanding' Secondary School & Sixth Form in the London Borough of Merton.

It is a mixed, 11 - 18, non-selective school with a wide demographic of pupils and staff.

90% of students stay in education or employment after Key Stage 4.

The site has its own dedicated SEN Support Centre and a variety of sports facilities.

Ofsted have noted there is positive culture of learning and a strong sense of community.

Requirements

Applications are welcome if you're a recently qualified SENCO or experienced SENCO.

You're also welcome to apply if you're a British trained SENCO or overseas trained SENCO.

All applicants must have the following in order to be considered for this position as a SENCO:

  • Right to work in the UK
  • Clear and up to date Enhanced DBS
  • Experience as a qualified Teacher or SENCO in UK schools
  • UK QTS and evidence of CPD relevant to the SENCO role or willingness to undertake this training
