SEND Tutor - Bromley

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Tutor to provide one-to-one Mathematics or English tutoring for a child in mainstream education with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), based in Bromley. This is a part-time, face-to-face role (1-3 hours per week) that offers the opportunity to make a real difference by supporting learning in a calm, structured, and nurturing environment.

  • Hours: 1-3 hours per week (face-to-face)

  • Pay: £30-£35 per hour



The Role:

As a SEND Tutor, you will plan and deliver tailored lessons in Maths or English, adapting your teaching approach to suit the learner's individual needs, interests, and learning style. You'll work collaboratively with parents and school staff to ensure consistency and continuity of learning, helping the student to develop both academic skills and confidence.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, personalised lessons in Mathematics or English.

  • Support emotional regulation and maintain a calm, positive learning space.

  • Encourage independence, confidence, and enjoyment of learning.

  • Build a trusting and supportive relationship with the learner.

  • Use visual supports, structured routines, or other communication tools as needed.

  • Adapt lessons to accommodate sensory preferences and attention levels.

  • Provide regular feedback to parents and school staff on progress and next steps.



Essential Qualities:

  • Experience supporting children with Autism (ASD) or other additional needs.

  • Ability to differentiate lessons to suit varying learning profiles.

  • Patient, empathetic, and flexible teaching approach.

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

  • Ability to travel to the student's home or agreed location in Bromley.
