I am working with an exceptional boys grammar school based that is looking to employ a sociology teacher. This is a full time position to start as soon as possible. A member of staff has been signed off on sick leave for 3 weeks initially but the school expects that the role will continue after this point.
The school has an exceptionally strong humanities and social sciences department. The role will involve teaching general sociology up to KS5. The ability to teach history up to GCSE would be a great benefit but is not essential.
Sociology has a strong up take at GCSE and A-level and the department is well run and works collaboratively, offering great support and a friendly working environment.
The school are keen to meet with candidates and can hold interviews at short notice.
If you are a Sociology teacher would like to be considered for this role in education and training please submit an up to date copy of your CV as soon as possible.
This is a Boys Grammar School, with Academy Status and a Coeducational 6th Form and is one of the top performing schools in the borough having been rated as Outstanding by Ofsted in 2007 and again in 2012. It is heavily oversubscribed and boasts excellent facilities, with well-equipped classrooms and state of the art technology throughout.
The school's success is owed greatly to the determination of its staff and the ethos that they uphold. Students are happy at the school and actively engage with their classes and are pushed by their teachers to go beyond the curriculum with excellent results.
