I am seeking to appoint a Special Needs Teaching Assistant (TA) / Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a friendly, supportive and well run primary school in the London Borough of Barnet, North London. The school is looking for a new Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join their KS2 team to work 1:1 with a pupil. ABA experience is preferable but not essential.
Experience supporting primary aged children with Autism or similar special needs in a mainstream or SEN setting would be advantageous. An ABA qualification and/or basic understanding of PECS and Makaton and some personal care experience would be highly desirable.
Students in the primary phase access the National Curriculum from the age of three and a half to twelve years. The National Curriculum is tailored to the individual needs of the pupil through the use of the Equals schemes of work and is supported through a communication-centred environment.
