An inclusive mainstream primary school located in Shepherd's Bush are looking for a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant You will work closely with our experienced teachers and SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to provide tailored support, create an inclusive learning environment, and ensure that every child has the opportunity to thrive academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities of the Special Needs Teaching Assistant:

  • Work one-on-one or in small groups with students with special educational needs, adapting teaching methods to meet their individual needs.
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of lessons to support SEND students.
  • Implement and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with the SENCO.
  • Provide emotional and behavioural support to students, promoting their well-being and positive engagement in school activities.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment where all students feel valued and respected.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or with children with special educational needs is desirable but not essential.
  • A genuine passion for working with children and helping them achieve their full potential.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience.
  • A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and safeguarding students.
