About the Role:
As a dedicated Speech and Language Teaching Assistant, you will be an essential part of our inclusive learning environment, contributing to the support and development of children across various primary ages. Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the inclusion team to identify and address speech and language needs.
- Offer one-on-one and small group support for children with communication difficulties.
- Implement effective strategies and interventions to enhance communication skills.
- Work closely with teachers and fellow teaching assistants to create a cohesive support system.
- Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere within the inclusion room.
- Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Utilise a range of resources and tools to engage and stimulate learning.
- Monitor and track progress, providing regular updates to the inclusion team.
- Attend training sessions to stay informed about the latest speech and language interventions.
- Create a safe and nurturing space for children to develop their communication skills.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant is desirable, with a focus on speech and language support.
- Relevant qualifications in speech and language therapy or a related field.
- Understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and its impact on communication.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
