Student Support Worker

A Student Support Worker is needed in a mixed comprehensive Secondary School in South London.

The school is ideally seeking a Student Support Worker to join them on a full-time, long term/permanent basis. However, part time applicants can be considered.

Working hours and days for this Student Support Worker role will be 8am to 4pm, Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities for this Student Support Worker post will involve providing support to students in class and on a 1:1 basis, assisting class teachers in the development of resources, schemes of work and strategies, as well as recording pupil progress.

A Student Support Worker who is educated to degree level, has knowledge of working with young people with challenging behaviours, experience of supporting young people from disadvantaged backgrounds and a solid understanding of proper Safeguarding practices in a school environment will be highly desirable.

There may also be times were you will be expected to cover classes in the absence of the class teacher. Therefore, adaptability and strong behaviour management will be preferred skills.

The rates of pay for this Student Support Worker position will range from £72 to £100 a day, depending on the experiences and qualifications of each candidate.

Requirements

  • Right to work unhindered in the UK
  • UK degree level education or overseas equivalent
  • Experience of working as a Student Support Worker in UK schools
