Supply Teacher

Westminster, Kensington and Chelsea, Hammersmith and Fulham and Chiswick/Hounslow, London

£150 - £180 per day

Qualified primary teacher looking for flexible working days around your availability? ECT and looking for supply work before starting your training years? Looking to work a few days a week or a few weeks at a time?

Reeson Education work with schools across London who require supply teachers throughout the Academic year. Working as a supply teacher will allow you to only work on days you choose, you will be able to take term time holiday, pick up work around your schedule and experience different year groups and schools close to home or further a field.

Benefits:

  • Choose your schedule: Work when it suits you, great for people balancing other commitments (family, study, part-time work).
  • Take breaks when needed: No long-term contracts mean you can take time off without needing approval.
  • Different schools and settings: Exposure to various teaching environments, age groups, and school cultures.
  • Try before you commit: Useful for finding the right fit if you're considering a permanent position later.
  • Adaptability and classroom management: You learn to quickly build rapport, manage new groups, and handle unexpected challenges.
  • Broader teaching skills: Working with diverse students and curricula helps you grow as a teacher.
  • No long-term planning or marking: Often, you're only responsible for delivering pre-set lessons.
  • Fewer meetings: You generally avoid staff meetings, performance appraisals, and parent conferences.
  • New teachers: Gain classroom experience before committing to a full-time role.
  • Retired teachers: Stay active in the field without the full workload.
  • Career changers or returners: Ease back into education without the pressure of a permanent role.
  • Network and make a good impression: Many schools hire regular supply teachers for permanent roles when they become available.
  • Leave work at work: Unlike full-time teachers, supply teachers typically don't bring work home.
  • Mental health benefits: Less stress from paperwork and long-term responsibilities.

What you'll need:

  • UK qualified teacher status (QTS), gained through a PGCE, Bed or BA with QTS or School Direct/ Teach first program. (NARIC also acceptable)
  • Right to work within the UK
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service - Reeson Education can assist in applying for this
