About the Role:
As an SEN Teacher, you will lead structured lessons, deliver targeted interventions, and maintain firm expectations to keep pupils focused and progressing. You'll drive learning through direct instruction, clear routines, and practical strategies that strengthen behaviour, independence, and academic engagement.
Key Responsibilities as SEN Teacher:
- Targeted Instruction: Deliver structured teaching, adapted resources, and subject-focused interventions.
- Classroom Leadership: Maintain steady routines, apply behaviour frameworks, and ensure task completion.
- Behaviour & Regulation: Use consistent, firm strategies to build discipline, self-control, and focus.
- Performance Monitoring: Track academic and behavioural outcomes and provide clear updates to senior staff.
- Professional Coordination: Work efficiently with support staff, leadership, and external professionals to maintain aligned expectations.
To succeed as an SEN Teacher, you will need:
- Proven experience in teaching, SEN, SEMH, or similar structured environments.
- A controlled, organised approach with strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Confidence leading classes and implementing behaviour and learning plans with precision.
- A proactive, independent mindset with strong presence and authority in the classroom.
- An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply through Reeson Education.
