SEN Teaching Assitant
I am working with a great school based in central London that is looking to take on a SEN teaching assistant. This is a full time role starting after the half term break which will last until the end of the current academic year in the first instance.
The school are looking for a SEN teaching assistant who has previous school experience and who has experience working with students who present challenging behaviour.
The role will see you supporting students from KS3 predominantly, though you may find yourself working at times with older pupils as well. In particular you will be working with a number of students who find it hard to concentrate in class and are easily distracted, so you will be supporting them in the classroom to make sure they complete work assigned to them by the teacher and ensure that they focus and concentrate on the task at hand.
You will also be working with students on a 121 and small group basis outside of the classroom. In particular a number of the pupils really enjoy sport and are well motivated when this is used as an incentive.
In general they are looking for someone who will know when to be firm and when to smile as the pupils are all well natured but can be a handful and need someone who will be able to set clear boundaries but also have fun when appropriate.
The school are keen to meet with candidates so if you are a SEN teaching assistant with relevant experience/training and would like to be considered for this opportunity in education and training then please do apply as soon as possible by clicking the link and submitting an up to date copy of your CV to Oliver @ Reeson Education.
This is a great school based in central London. Formerly an all girls school, since its transition to a mixed academy two years ago it has gone from strength to strength. Building off of its 2016 "Good" Ofsted report the school has built upon its already strong teaching standards and this year pupils have celebrated their best set of results yet.
Over subscribed and well supported within the local community this is a great place to work and teach. The school has plans to expand over the coming academic year so there will be plenty of opportunities in the next few months for teachers looking for new opportunities.
