A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Teaching Assistant to work with children with Complex Needs and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties in an outstanding Primary Special Needs school. The school, based in Barking and Dagenham, is looking for someone with a child centered approach and a positive and approachable manner.
The school is for students of various abilities, ranging from moderate learning difficulties to complex and profound needs. The post requires a talented Teaching Assistant who is flexible, enthusiastic and dedicated to supporting some of the most complex needs within the School.
Due to the nature of the children in the class the role will require personal care, nappy changing and activities such as hydrotherapy. The team is friendly, happy, energetic and love their jobs working with these 6 students. If you are a natural care giver and a team player, you will fit in well with this Class.
The role will include:
- Assisting the teacher with classroom preparation, resources, tidying
- 1:1 work with students engaging them in learning
- 1:1 support for pupils with Personal Care such as Feeding and Changing
- Supervising groups of pupils at lunchtimes
- Helping the class teacher with pupil progress observations
