This full-time role, starting immediately, will provide you with the chance to make a positive impact on the lives of learners with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).

Responsibilities of an SEN Teaching Assistant:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant within the primary phase, you will play a crucial role in providing personalised support to students with SLD and PMLD. Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Assisting in the implementation of individual learning plans and educational programs.
  • Supporting student's personal care needs with empathy and compassion.
  • Assisting with manual handling, ensuring the safety and comfort of students.
  • Providing support during lessons, promoting engagement and inclusion.
  • Building positive relationships with students, fostering a nurturing and inclusive environment.

What We're Looking For:

  • Previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant, preferably within a primary phase.
  • Understanding of the unique needs and challenges faced by students with SLD and PMLD.
  • A patient and empathetic approach, with the ability to provide personal care.
  • Knowledge of manual handling techniques and a commitment to promoting student safety.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with students and colleagues.
  • A genuine passion for supporting students with SEN and a commitment to their holistic development.
