Teaching Assistant - Small ASC SEN School

Are you a dedicated and passionate individual looking for a rewarding career in the education sector? Look no further! We are currently seeking a Teaching Assistant for a small SEN School in West London.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will be an integral part of the school's support team, working closely with students who have Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD). This role requires a strong and hardworking individual with the ability to work with behaviours that challenge.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one support to students with ASD and SLD, helping them to access the curriculum and reach their full potential.
  • Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering tailored lessons and activities, ensuring the individual needs of each student are met.
  • Implement strategies to manage challenging behaviours, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support students with personal care and hygiene, ensuring their well-being and safety at all times.
  • Liaise with parents, carers, and external professionals to provide feedback on student progress and contribute to the development of individual education plans.
  • Contribute to the wider school community, participating in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance your skills and knowledge.

This is a full-time, long-term role with an immediate start. Working hours are from 8am to 4pm, providing you with a stable and consistent work schedule.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with students with ASD and SLD is essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage and motivate students.
  • A patient and empathetic nature, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and their families.
  • A proactive and resilient approach, able to adapt to changing situations and effectively manage challenging behaviours.
  • Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant certification, are highly desirable but not essential.
