Are you looking for a new Teaching Assistant role within a special needs school?
We are a currently looking for a teaching assistants to work within a PMLD class within a terrific special needs school in Brent. You will be working closely with children that have profound multiple learning difficulties. Working as a teaching assistant you will be helping to support pupils on a 1:1 basis.
The children are in Key Stage 1 & 2 and may require personal care. These children will be working on lessons that are focused on multisensory. You will be supported by 3/4 other TA's and a class teacher.
The staff are friendly and highly supportive, in addition to this school the school is ran by a wonderful head teacher who leads by example.
What does PMLD mean?
Children with PMLD will have more than one disability, this could mean they may have trouble with the following: communication, hearing and visual impairments, physical disabilities, and mental health difficulties. Many individuals with profound multiple learning difficulties rely on different ways to communicate this maybe through such as PECS and Makaton.
Required Skills and Expertise
- Be an excellent, inspiring learning support assistant
- Have a proven track record of improvement
- Be able to creatively contribute to the development of the students and the curriculum
