As an SEN Teaching Assistant in this esteemed school, you will have the incredible opportunity to work with ASC students in small class sizes of 6-8 students per class. This will allow you to provide the individualised attention and support that these students need to thrive academically and socially. This is a full-time, long-term position that is available immediately. It offers stability and the chance to become an integral part of this supportive and nurturing school community. Your expertise and dedication will be valued as you work alongside the teacher to ensure that students with ASC receive the tailored support they require.
In this role, you may also be involved in personal care duties, as some students may need assistance with their daily routines. Your compassion, patience, and understanding will be essential in creating a safe and inclusive environment for these students to thrive in.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing support to ASC students in their academic and social development
- Collaborating with the teacher to plan and deliver personalised lessons and activities
- Offering one-to-one or small group support to students who require additional assistance
- Encouraging independence and fostering a positive learning atmosphere
- Monitoring and tracking student progress, providing regular feedback to the teacher
- Assisting with personal care tasks, such as toileting and feeding, when necessary
- Working collaboratively with colleagues and professionals to ensure optimal student support
