Teaching Assistant Role
For this Teaching Assistant position in a top Kensington and Chelsea SEN School you will need to be an experienced Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant who has worked with Secondary aged pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties or who are on the Autistic spectrum.
You will be working as a class based Teaching Assistant with Key Stage 4 pupils who have significant delay in their academic and social ability. the school is in the heart of Kensington and Chelsea and has an excellent repuation.
For this Teaching Assistant position you will be working in a class of 8 pupils alongside another two experienced SEN Teaching Assistant colleagues and a specialist SEN Teacher. The children can be "active" so you will need to be able to concentrate, multitask and bring energy and enthusiasm to the job.
Teaching Assistant Applicants
The ideal candidate will have good ASD knowledge and some experience of PECS and Makaton but the key to the job is attitude and the school are very willing to train someone who shows passion and a willingness to get stuck in! This role is full time and entirely based in their Kensington and Chelsea site, parking isn't available so you must be willing to commute to Kensington and Chelsea by public transport.
Please note that personal care (feeding and changing) is a part of the job and applicants who wouldn't be prepared to undertake these tasks after training will not be considered for the post.
