As an SEN Teaching Assistant in this large and outstanding school, you will have the privilege of working closely with ASC students in small class sizes of approximately 10 students per class. These students may exhibit challenging behaviours, and your expertise and patience will be vital in providing them with the support and guidance they require to succeed academically and socially. This is a full-time, long-term position that is available for an immediate start. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing exceptional support to ASC students in their academic and social development
- Collaborating closely with the teacher to plan and deliver personalised lessons and activities tailored to the students' needs
- Offering one-to-one or small group support to students who require additional assistance
- Encouraging independence and fostering a positive learning atmosphere within the classroom
- Monitoring and tracking student progress, providing regular feedback to the teacher
- Assisting with personal care tasks, such as toileting and feeding, when required
- Working collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals to ensure optimal support for the students
