About the Role
A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Streatham, Lambeth, is looking for a compassionate and experienced Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one support for a KS1 pupil with Autism (ASD) who has high needs.
This role is ideal for a patient, understanding, and proactive Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them achieve their full potential within a nurturing school environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide one-to-one support for a KS1 pupil with Autism (ASD).
Implement individual learning and behaviour plans tailored to the child's needs.
Support movement breaks, sensory regulation, and transitions throughout the school day.
Collaborate closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals.
Foster a calm, safe, and inclusive learning space for the pupil.
Candidate Requirements
Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant supporting children with Autism or complex needs.
A caring, patient, and flexible approach.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and use initiative.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
