SEMH Teaching Assistant - St Helens
Do you have a passion for supporting young people with social, emotional and mental health needs? We're looking for a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic and nurturing school community in St Helens.
The Role
In this rewarding role, you will:
Support pupils with SEMH needs, helping them to engage positively in learning and school life.
Implement individual behaviour and learning support plans.
Build trusting relationships that foster confidence, emotional regulation and resilience.
Use positive behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques.
Work closely with teachers, the SENCO, and external professionals to ensure consistent support.
About You
Experience in SEMH, PRU, or pastoral support settings is highly desirable.
Calm, empathetic, and resilient with a strong sense of empathy and patience.
Skilled at managing challenging situations and promoting positive behaviour.
