Full-Time | Temp to Perm | Teaching Assistant with SEN Experience Required
A welcoming and inclusive primary school in the heart of Haringey is seeking an experienced EYFS Teaching Assistant to join their Reception team from September 2025. This is a full-time, 5-days-a-week position offered on a temp to perm basis for the right candidate.
The Role of a Teaching Assistant:
The school is looking for a nurturing and proactive EYFS Teaching Assistant who has a solid understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum and is confident supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN). The Reception class includes several pupils with additional needs, so prior SEN experience is essential.
Key Responsibilities of a Teaching Assistant:
Supporting the class teacher in delivering high-quality EYFS provision
Providing tailored support for pupils with a range of SEN, including ASD, speech and language delays, and behavioural needs
Using visual aids and structured routines to help children feel secure and engaged
Encouraging independence and fostering social and emotional development
Liaising with SENCOs, parents, and external professionals where needed
The Ideal EYFS Teaching Assistant Will Have:
Proven experience working in an EYFS setting, ideally in a mainstream school
Strong SEN experience, particularly supporting pupils on a 1:1 or small group basis
A caring, patient, and consistent approach
A willingness to work as part of a collaborative and supportive team
A proactive attitude and genuine passion for early childhood education
