Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (8:30am - 4:00pm, 30 min break)

Reeson Education is recruiting for an experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a specialist primary SEN provision in the M13 area of Manchester. This full-time Teaching Assistant role will be based within the KS1 phase, supporting pupils with a range of complex and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.

This is a long-term, temp-to-perm Teaching Assistant opportunity for someone who is passionate about inclusive education and ready to make a lasting difference.

Teaching Assistant - What You'll Be Doing:

  • Supporting pupils in KS1 with SEMH and complex needs on both a 1:1 and small group basis
  • Assisting the class teacher with planning, preparation, and delivery of individualised learning programmes
  • Leading sessions and, when needed, taking responsibility for the class under teacher supervision
  • Using Team Teach or other positive handling strategies to manage and de-escalate behaviour effectively
  • Promoting emotional regulation, positive routines, and engagement in learning
  • Providing pastoral support and helping children develop social and communication skills
  • Working closely with teachers, therapists, and the wider SEN team to create a calm and structured environment
  • Supporting personal care and daily routines where required

Teaching Assistant - Requirements:

  • Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent) - essential
  • Team Teach (or equivalent restraint/positive handling) training - essential
  • Proven experience supporting pupils with SEMH or complex learning needs
  • Confident, proactive, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • A nurturing, patient, and resilient approach to working with children
  • Full-time availability, Monday to Friday, from after half term
  • A valid enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
