Role: Teaching Assistant
Location: M21 area, South Manchester
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:00pm (30-minute lunch)
Pay: £13.69 to £15.87 per hour (dependent on experience)
Start Date: September 2025 (or earlier for the right Teaching Assistant)
Contract Type: Long-term, full-time
Reeson Education is working with a warm and welcoming primary school in the heart of the M21 postcode area to find a committed Teaching Assistant for their nurturing, small-group provision. Starting this September, this full-time Teaching Assistant role offers the chance to make a lasting difference in the lives of children from Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 who require additional emotional, social, and behavioural support.
The school is known for its inclusive ethos, strong leadership, and a well-established nurture base that supports pupils with a range of needs in a calm, structured setting. The successful Teaching Assistant will join a close-knit team of experienced staff who prioritise pupil wellbeing and personal growth just as much as academic progress.
Teaching Assistant - Role Overview:
- Work in a specialist nurture setting with 7-9 pupils from KS1 and KS2
- Support social and emotional development through structured routines and positive relationships
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to help children re-engage with learning
- Collaborate with teachers and SEN staff to deliver tailored interventions
- Help create a safe, caring and consistent space that fosters confidence and trust
- Model positive behaviour and promote emotional regulation strategies
- The Teaching Assistant will also help facilitate reintegration into class where appropriate
Teaching Assistant - Requirements:
- Experience working with primary-aged pupils, ideally in KS1/KS2
- Understanding of SEMH needs, trauma-informed approaches and nurture principles
- Calm, consistent and emotionally attuned communication style
- Resilient and flexible - no two days are the same in a nurture setting!
- Committed to full-time work, Monday to Friday - this Teaching Assistant role requires consistency
