We are recruiting a driven and hands-on Teaching Assistant for a specialist provision in Wakefield (WF4), ideal for someone who thrives in structured, high-expectation environments.
About the Role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will provide direct classroom support, reinforce routines, and apply a confident, no-nonsense approach to help pupils stay focused and engaged. You'll support learning, reinforce behaviour expectations, and help drive consistency across the school day.
Key Responsibilities as a Teaching Assistant:
- Classroom Support: Provide firm, steady support during lessons to keep pupils focused and on task.
- Behaviour Reinforcement: Apply consistent boundaries, structure, and expectations.
- Learning Assistance: Support pupils with work set by the teacher and reinforce key learning points.
- Routine Leadership: Maintain clear daily routines and transitions across the school day.
- Progress Monitoring: Track pupil engagement and report directly to teaching staff.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with teachers and support staff to maintain consistent standards.
To succeed as a Teaching Assistant, you will need:
- Experience in schools, SEN, sports, alternative provision, or structured youth settings.
- A strong presence with calm, controlled, and confident communication.
- The ability to manage challenging behaviour with authority and consistency.
- Quick decision-making and practical problem-solving under pressure.
- An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply through us.
