Role: Teaching Assistant

Hours: Full-time, 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM (30-minute lunch break)
Pay: £13.69 to £15.87 per hour (Dependent on Experience)

Reeson Education is looking for a caring, committed, and reliable Teaching Assistant to support a Reception-aged pupil on a 1:1 basis in a warm and welcoming primary school in the M20 area. This full-time Teaching Assistant role is set to begin in September and is expected to continue for the full academic year.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will be working closely with a child with special educational needs, supporting their communication, emotional development, and day-to-day classroom engagement. This is a rewarding opportunity for a Teaching Assistant with a calm and nurturing nature, and a genuine interest in making a difference in early years education.
Teaching Assistant Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support for a Reception-aged pupil with SEN
- Assist with personalised learning activities and sensory strategies
- Work alongside the class teacher and SENDCo as a proactive Teaching Assistant
- Foster a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment
- Promote positive behaviour, engagement, and early years development
- Support with toileting, transitions, and emotional regulation when needed
- Monitor progress and communicate regularly with the wider support team
- Contribute to the pupil's EHCP targets as a key Teaching Assistant
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold safeguarding practices
- Be a dependable, daily presence as the child's dedicated Teaching Assistant
Teaching Assistant Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in early years support
- Confidence supporting pupils with SEN, ideally in EYFS or KS1
- Strong communication, patience, and a caring approach
- Willingness to assist with personal care and sensory routines
- Reliable and fully committed to a long-term Teaching Assistant role
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
- Excellent attendance, punctuality, and professional references
