Reeson Education is looking for a caring, committed, and reliable Teaching Assistant to support a Reception-aged pupil on a 1:1 basis in a warm and welcoming primary school in the M20 area. This full-time Teaching Assistant role is set to begin in September and is expected to continue for the full academic year.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will be working closely with a child with special educational needs, supporting their communication, emotional development, and day-to-day classroom engagement. This is a rewarding opportunity for a Teaching Assistant with a calm and nurturing nature, and a genuine interest in making a difference in early years education.

Teaching Assistant Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support for a Reception-aged pupil with SEN
  • Assist with personalised learning activities and sensory strategies
  • Work alongside the class teacher and SENDCo as a proactive Teaching Assistant
  • Foster a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment
  • Promote positive behaviour, engagement, and early years development
  • Support with toileting, transitions, and emotional regulation when needed
  • Monitor progress and communicate regularly with the wider support team
  • Contribute to the pupil's EHCP targets as a key Teaching Assistant
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold safeguarding practices
  • Be a dependable, daily presence as the child's dedicated Teaching Assistant

Teaching Assistant Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in early years support
  • Confidence supporting pupils with SEN, ideally in EYFS or KS1
  • Strong communication, patience, and a caring approach
  • Willingness to assist with personal care and sensory routines
  • Reliable and fully committed to a long-term Teaching Assistant role
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
  • Excellent attendance, punctuality, and professional references
