Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM (one day until 4:00 PM for training)
Pay: £13.69 to £15.87 per hour (Dependent on Experience)

Reeson Education is recruiting an enthusiastic and resilient Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEMH secondary school in the M30 area. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity for a Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting pupils aged 11-16 with a variety of additional needs.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils with SEMH challenges, behavioural needs, social anxieties, and other learning difficulties. The school is looking for a confident and adaptable Teaching Assistant who can build positive relationships, encourage engagement, and help pupils develop both academically and emotionally.

Teaching Assistant Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and group support for pupils with SEMH needs
  • Assist teachers in delivering tailored lessons as a proactive Teaching Assistant
  • Promote positive behaviour and de-escalate challenges calmly
  • Encourage pupils to build confidence and resilience in learning
  • Support pupils with social anxieties and additional learning needs
  • Work collaboratively with staff to create a safe and structured environment
  • Be consistent, reliable, and supportive as a dedicated Teaching Assistant
  • Attend weekly training sessions to develop your skills as a Teaching Assistant
  • Ensure safeguarding and pupil wellbeing at all times

Teaching Assistant Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with SEMH, behaviour, or additional needs
  • Resilient, patient, and able to remain calm under pressure
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to adapt to a variety of needs and situations as a Teaching Assistant
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
  • Full-time commitment to a long-term Teaching Assistant role
