About the Role
The school is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated Teaching Assistant to enhance provision for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and those requiring additional support.
As a Teaching Assistant, your role will include:
- One-to-one support for children with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
- Classroom support across the curriculum.
- Delivering targeted interventions to support literacy, numeracy, and emotional regulation.
We are looking for a Teaching Assistant who:
- Is patient, caring, and empathetic.
- Believes every child can succeed and reach their potential.
- Works well as part of a team and uses initiative.
- Has a good sense of humour and a positive outlook.
- Is flexible and adaptable.
- Is competent in English and Maths (GCSE grade C or above).
Ideally, the Teaching Assistant will also:
- Have experience supporting children with emotional and behavioural needs.
- Have worked with children with a range of SEN in an educational setting.
- Have delivered interventions to support academic progress.
Essential Criteria for the Teaching Assistant Role
To be considered for this Teaching Assistant position, candidates must:
- Have GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths at grade C or above.
- Be able to work with individuals or small groups under the direction of the class teacher and SENDCo.
- Support pupils to stay on task and complete learning activities.
- Assist in managing children's social and emotional needs.
- Provide feedback to pupils in line with teacher guidance.
- Plan and deliver interventions to support rapid progress.
- Understand safeguarding and confidentiality requirements.
- Keep accurate records of pupil progress and support.
