Pay: £13.69 - £15.87 per hour (dependent on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm (Full-time, long-term)
Start Date: September 2025

Reeson Education are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming SEN-friendly primary school in the M21 area. This Teaching Assistant role will involve supporting pupils with a range of needs including ASD, ADHD, MLD, SEMH, speech and language difficulties, and communication challenges. The school caters for children from EYFS through to KS2, so the successful Teaching Assistant must be confident working across all year groups.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will be:

  • Supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis with specific learning and emotional needs

  • Assisting small groups through targeted interventions to boost progress

  • Providing in-class support to help pupils access the curriculum

  • Adapting activities to suit different abilities and learning styles

  • Encouraging social skills, communication, and confidence building

  • Liaising with teachers, SENCOs, and therapists to implement tailored strategies

  • Supporting with daily routines to create a positive and inclusive learning environment

This Teaching Assistant role will suit someone with prior experience in SEN or mainstream settings, or someone from a childcare, youth work, or mentoring background looking to step into education. The right Teaching Assistant will be patient, proactive, and passionate about making a difference to children's learning and wellbeing.

Requirements for the Teaching Assistant role:

  • Experience supporting children with SEN (ASD, ADHD, MLD, SEMH, or similar)

  • Confidence working across EYFS, KS1, and KS2

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships

  • A resilient, empathetic, and adaptable approach

  • Commitment to a full-time, long-term role starting September 2025
