Team Teach trained TA required for long term role from Feb half term - Barking - SEN School
Reeson Education have a vacancy for a Team Teach TA at a fantastic School in Barking and Dagenham working with a children with Special Needs.
The School:
Rated 'Outstanding' by Ofsted, this fantastic SEN School delivers individualised learning plans for children aged 4 - 19 with Special Needs. Most pupils have a primary diagnosis of Autism. Many pupils have additional needs including sensory processing difficulties, social/communication needs and behaviour challenges.
Pupils progress through an individualised learning curriculum with a focus on Functional Skills, communication and social development. Lessons - taught by the Schools outstanding teacher team - take a focus on sensory stimulation, kinesthetic learning and often teachers take the children's learning out in to the community on trips.
The School has extensive grounds and the children are able to access a fully functioning Music room; impressive herb Garden and a Sensory Room.
The Role:
As a TA within the School, you will support students within class on a 1-1 and group basis. The Team Teach training is essential as you must have the skills to manage emotions and behaviours connected with Autism Spectrum Disorder. You must be a calm and patient worker, who is able to foresee childrens emotions/stresses and deescalate situations. The School are looking for someone nurturing who is able to build rapport with children with complex needs, some of whom are non verbal. Above all, you must be an enthusiastic character, reliable and with an interest in working long-term - permanent within an SEN School.
The role starts February 2021 and is five days a week, full time and will go on till the end of the academic year at which point, it is likely to progress into a permanent contract for the right person.
