Welfare Officer

Welfare Officer needed in a 'Good' mixed Secondary School in South East London.

The school is seeking an Welfare Officer that has experience of what the roles requires.

Having previously worked in a Secondary School environment as an Welfare Officer is preferred but not essential.

Knowledge and skills to use Bromcom are desirable for this Welfare Officer post would be advantageous but not vital.

As things stand, the school requires an Welfare Officer to cover a long term sickness until the 22nd of October 2021. However, this could change.

This will be a full time position as an Welfare Officer and the working hours will be 8am to 4pm.

The rate of pay for this Welfare Officer position will be between £90 to £130 a day, depending on the qualifications and experiences of each applicant.

The School

A very large 11 - 18 Comprehensive School founded in 1971 which has just under 2000 pupils.

There are over 80 languages spoken by staff and pupils.

In terms of facilities, there is an Olympic legacy sports set up in the gymnasium and dojo, as well as a shared use sports centre.

The school holds a Artsmark Platinum and 4 PTI Awards. A new building opened in 2011, providing new resources and equipment.

During their last inspection, Ofsted noted that the pupils display good behaviour. They are always ready to learn and are polite, caring of others and friendly.

Requirements

Applications are welcome if you are an Welfare Officer at any stage in your career, including if you are you are a British trained Welfare Officer or overseas trained Welfare Officer.

You are also welcome to apply if you are a recently qualified Welfare Officer or experienced Welfare Officer.

  • UK Bachelors Degree or overseas equivalent
  • Experience of working as an Welfare Officer in the UK
