A well-established and welcoming 3-form entry primary school is seeking a confident and dedicated Year 2 Teacher to join their Key Stage 1 team from January 2026. This is a long-term position for the remainder of the academic year, with a strong opportunity to secure a permanent contract from September 2026.

The Role

  • Full class responsibility for a Year 2 class

  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons aligned with the National Curriculum

  • Supporting pupils in preparation for KS1 assessments

  • Delivering high-quality phonics, reading, writing, and maths

  • Differentiating effectively for SEN and EAL pupils

  • Working closely with parallel teachers and teaching assistants

The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Experience teaching Year 2 or KS1 is desirable

  • Confident classroom and behaviour management skills

  • Strong understanding of phonics and early reading strategies

  • Committed, reflective, and enthusiastic practitioner
