REESON Education are recruiting on behalf of an OFSTED "Outstanding" 3 form entry school in the Borough of Islington. The school are looking for a Year 6 Intervention Teacher to join their team on a fixed term contract basis commencing in September 2020.

With the school year being disrupted in such a way due to Covid-19, the school are keen to ensure that the new Year 6 pupils of 2020/21 are in the best position possible to undertake their SATs exams next year. The school are acutely aware that a lot of topics will have been missed during school closures, and are keen to employ a strong Intervention Teacher who will be able to ensure the pupils catch up as quickly as possible.

As a Year 6 Intervention Teacher, you will be responsible for working on a 1-1 and small group basis supporting pupils with their knowledge of all subjects (though there will be a heavy focus on English, Maths and Science). You will be confident in your knowledge of the Upper KS2 National Curriculum and be able to deliver bespoke, engaging lessons to pupils of varying abilities.

The role will include minimal planning, however the ability to tweak pre-planned lessons based on the needs of each pupil will be key. As a Year 6 Intervention Teacher, you will need to be able to identify areas of improvement for each pupil and work closely with Class Teachers, SLT and families to ensure children meet their full potential. You will work closely with the Year 6 Teaching team to implement plans of action for pupils who need additional support and consistently monitor and report back on termly progress. Previous experience working with children on the SEND register will also be advantageous.

Successful applicants will have a proven track record of raising attainment at KS2 Level. The ideal applicant will have previous experience as a full time Year 6 Teacher, though strong applications within other KS2 yeargroups will be considered .

If you are interested in this Year 6 Intervention Teacher role, please contact Amy at REESON Education today with your CV.
