This highly successful SEN School in the heart of East London is seeking to appoint an excellent and experienced SEN Teacher for an ASD Class. This role is from January 2021 with the possibility of a permanent contract for the right teacher.
You will have a mixed group of 10 pupils with ASD and SLD needs. These students are in Key Stage 1 and 2 and are working at high P Levels. MAKATON is used throughout and some of the students are nonverbal although most are verbal. TEACCH/Structure is used throughout so a Teacher with experience with this would be able to really hit the ground running with this class. There are some behaviours in the class but nothing extreme and is well managed with a positive and rewards based behaviour strategies. This is a lovely group of children and the class is supported with highly capable and proactive TA's too.

The Ideal Applicant
Due to the needs of the classes, the Head Teacher is seeking to appoint an experienced practitioner who has at least 1 years recent experience teaching in a similar environment in the UK delivering to children with the same needs - Autism.
