The Food Technology Teacher Job

Are you a compassionate and dedicated Food Technology Teacher looking to make a real difference in the lives of children? We are seeking a Special Educational Needs, Secondary Teacher for a vibrant school with students aged 4-19 in Lambeth specialising in supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD). You will specifically be working with students of a secondary age working with a specialised curriculum to enhance the students engagement in life skills. In this rewarding Food technology Teacher role, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment tailored to the unique needs of each student. Your expertise as a Food Technology Teacher will help develop individualised learning plans that focus on and develop the students independence and understanding of cooking.

The School

The successful Food Technology applicant would be joining an outstanding SEN school in Lambeth for children with sever learning difficulties. This SEN school offers provision for pupils from 11- 19 years, who have a diagnosis of ASD and an EHCP. The school provides a range of unique enabling environments, both indoor and outdoor, which are used to maximise learning opportunities and meet pupil's specific needs. The curriculum allows the students to gain independence and life skills.

Food Technology Teacher Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement personalised lesson plans for Food Technology classes

- Foster a positive and supportive classroom atmosphere.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adapting approaches as the Food technology teacher in the classroom.
- Engage with parents and caregivers to support student development at home and in school.

- Work with and lead a support team within the classroom

Food Technololgy Teacher Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of ASD and SLD Students
- Experience working in a special needs education setting is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
