A vibrant and inclusive primary school in Haringey is seeking an enthusiastic and energetic Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join their Key Stage 2 team from September 2025. This is a temp to perm opportunity for a confident and proactive Higher Level Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting learning, physical education, and pupil wellbeing.
The successful Higher Level Teaching Assistant will be expected to lead whole-class learning in the absence of the teacher, support pupils 1:1 as needed, and accompany pupils to off-site activities, including swimming lessons. The school is looking for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant with a sporty, confident presence and a can-do attitude who can positively influence classroom behaviour and engagement.
Higher Level Teaching Assistant responsibilities:
Delivering pre-set lessons to KS2 classes as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant
Supporting class teachers with small group work and learning interventions
Working 1:1 with pupils who require additional support
Acting as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant role model to encourage a love of learning and active participation
Escorting children to external activities, such as swimming
Providing pastoral and behavioural support when needed
Supporting the wider school team in a flexible Higher Level Teaching Assistant capacity
Ideal Higher Level Teaching Assistant profile:
Previous experience working as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant or covering classes
Confident managing behaviour and leading groups
A sporty, energetic individual who enjoys promoting physical activity
Strong knowledge of the primary curriculum, especially KS2
A team player who thrives in a school environment
