History Teacher

A History Teacher is needed ASAP in new Sixth Form in South West London.

You must be able to commit on a long term/permanent basis for this History Teacher post.

This History Teacher post can be part time (3 or 4 days). A full time option is available too.

If appointed as a History Teacher, you will be required to teach just A Level.

Standard class teacher responsibilities will apply for this History Teacher role. This includes but isn't limited to planning lessons, marking work and attending meetings.

The rate of pay for this History Teacher position will be between £150 and £250 a day, depending on qualifications and experience.

The Sixth Form

A newly opened Sixth Form with the values of Commitment, Confidence and Courage.

The building and facilities are set over four floors. These include but aren't limited to; music teaching/practice rooms, a drama studio, main hall, dining area, outside amphitheatre, graphics room, media room, art suite, fitness/sports space, ICT suites, large library, science laboratories and a horticulture space.

Teaching includes Vocational and A Level courses. Separate Sciences, Mathematics, Technology, Drama, Computing, as well as History are some of the subjects that pupils can choose to study at the Sixth Form.

Cultural Perspectives are also a key part of learning, where pupils are taught about the wider world beyond the walls of the Sixth Form. Topics cover First Aid Skills, Space, Philosophy and Statues of Parliament.

There is also an on site café where pupils can help themselves to coffee, hot chocolate, as well as a variety of snacks. Vegetarian and vegan options are available too.

Despite being a Sixth Form, the staff ask pupils to uphold a smart dress code.

Given its location, there is no shortage of enrichment outside of Sixth Form hours. Some of the local amenities are the South London Theatre, Streatham Ice Rink, Centre for Young Musicians, Acacia School of Dance and Chess at Streatham Library.

Requirements

Applications are welcome if you are a newly qualified History Teacher or experienced History Teacher.

You are also encouraged to apply if you are a UK trained History Teacher or overseas trained History Teacher.

As a must all applicants must have the following on order to be shortlisted for this History Teacher position:

  • Right to work in the UK
  • UK QTS or overseas equivalent
  • Clear and up to date Enhanced DBS
  • Experience of working as a History Teacher in the UK
