Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant - SEN 1:1 Support

Location: Feltham

Position Type: Full-Time, Temporary (ASAP start with an opportunity of rolling onto September 2023)

Salary: £85 - £95 per day

This well-established school in Feltham, is dedicated to providing exceptional education and support for children with special educational needs. the school are currently seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with children with Autism and behavioural challenges, providing personalized support to help them thrive academically, emotionally, and socially.

Responsibilities:

  • Work on a 1:1 basis with children with Autism and behavioural challenges, providing individualized support tailored to their specific needs.
  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behavior Support Plans (BSPs), collaborating closely with the class teacher and other professionals.
  • Support the development of social skills, communication, and academic progress of the students.
  • Create a safe and nurturing learning environment that promotes inclusion and fosters positive relationships.
  • Monitor and record the progress of the students, providing feedback to the class teacher and relevant stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the school staff to create and adapt resources to meet the individual needs of the students.
  • Establish effective communication channels with parents/guardians, keeping them informed about their child's progress and providing strategies for home support.

Requirements:

  • Experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role, preferably with children with Autism and behavioural challenges.
  • A patient and empathetic approach, with the ability to adapt to individual learning styles and provide appropriate support.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, parents/guardians, and the wider school community.
  • Knowledge of strategies and interventions to support children with Autism and behavioural challenges.
  • A genuine passion for helping children with special educational needs reach their full potential.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in Special Educational Needs would be advantageous but not essential.
