An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Part-Time Learning Support Assistant to join a mainstream primary school located in Roehampton, SW15. This role will involve providing essential support to Year 1 children who have emotional and behavioural special needs, helping them overcome challenges and succeed in their educational journey.

Learning Support Assistant Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Year 1 students with emotional and behavioural special needs to provide one-on-one and small group support.
  • Foster a supportive and nurturing environment that encourages the social and emotional development of students.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies to help students develop positive behaviours and build self-confidence.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher and Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) to create individualized plans and strategies for each student.
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of tailored interventions to meet the unique needs of the students.

Learning Support Assistant Qualifications and Experience:

To be considered for this Learning Support Assistant role, you should have the following qualifications and qualities:

  • Previous experience working with children who have emotional and behavioural special needs.
  • A caring and patient demeanor, with the ability to build strong, supportive relationships with students.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A genuine commitment to helping children overcome challenges and achieve their potential.
  • A valid DBS check or willingness to obtain one.
