Learning Support Assistant - Role Overview:
As a Learning Support Assistant in this SEN unit, you will play a crucial role in supporting the educational and developmental needs of primary-aged children. Working closely with a dedicated team of LSA's and a class teacher, you will help create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities for the Learning Support Assistant:
- Assist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) tailored to the needs of each student
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, helping them with their learning activities
- Support the class teacher in delivering lessons and managing classroom behavior
- Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere, encouraging students to engage and participate
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the class teacher and SEN team
Learning Support Assistant - Qualifications:
- Experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly Autism (ASC)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting students
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
