Reeson Education is recruiting a Learning Support Assistant to join a supportive alternative provision in the M27 area. This is a full-time, long-term Learning Support Assistant role starting in September, working with secondary-aged pupils (11-16) who face a range of challenges including ADHD, SEMH, behavioural needs, and anxiety.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you'll provide a mix of 1:1 and small group support - building relationships, delivering structured interventions, and helping learners overcome barriers so they can thrive in a safe, understanding environment.

The ideal Learning Support Assistant will be resilient, adaptable, and emotionally intelligent, with the ability to work calmly and consistently with pupils who require structure and sensitivity. You'll work closely with teachers, the SEN team, and other staff to create learning opportunities that meet each young person's unique needs.

Learning Support Assistant - What You'll Be Doing:

  • Supporting pupils aged 11-16 with ADHD, SEMH, anxiety, and behavioural needs
  • Delivering 1:1 and small group support as a Learning Support Assistant
  • Tailoring support strategies to each pupil's needs
  • Helping with emotional regulation, behaviour support, and daily routines
  • Assisting with curriculum access through structured interventions
  • Supporting teaching staff and contributing to EHCP targets
  • Travelling between local sites (car driver essential)
  • Building strong, trusting relationships as a Learning Support Assistant

Learning Support Assistant - What We're Looking For:

  • Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant or in youth/SEN roles
  • Confident working with young people who may challenge expectations
  • Calm, patient, and resilient approach to behaviour and emotional needs
  • A full UK driving licence and access to your own car (essential)
  • DBS on the update service (or willing to apply)
  • Full-time availability from September
  • Passionate about inclusion and alternative education
