Learning Support Assistant | East London | ASAP Start | £82.14-£100 per day
Reeson Education is recruiting for a committed Learning Support Assistant to work flexibly across primary schools in the borough of Waltham Forest. This Learning Support Assistant role is perfect for someone who is passionate about supporting children with SEN and wants the flexibility to choose the days they work across Walthamstow, Leyton, Leytonstone, Chingford, Highams Park, and Woodford.
The Role: As a Learning Support Assistant, you'll be supporting pupils with a range of SEN including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and Speech & Language needs across different schools. This Learning Support Assistant position allows you to pick the days that suit you, giving you control over your schedule while making a real difference to children's lives on a 1:1 basis and within small groups.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing targeted support for pupils with SEN from EYFS to KS2 across various schools
- Delivering interventions under the guidance of teachers and SENCOs
- Supporting children with EHCP plans to meet their individual targets
- Helping pupils develop independence and confidence in the classroom
- Using positive behaviour strategies to support emotional regulation
What We're Looking For:
- Experience working as a Learning Support Assistant or in a similar SEN role
- A caring, patient approach with excellent communication skills
- Understanding of different SEN needs and how to support them effectively
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
- Ability to adapt quickly to different school environments
- Desirable: Knowledge of PECS, Makaton, or sensory strategies
