PA to the Headteacher & SLT

Start Date: June 2022

Working pattern: 40 Hours per week (flexible) - 38 weeks per year

Salary Grade: £31,119 - £32,104 (pro rata to hours worked £28,983 - £29,901)

Reeson Education are supporting a 'Good' secondary school located in the Hampton area of the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames who require a PA to the Headteacher from June 2022 on a permanent basis.

The school are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic colleague to work with the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team.

The successful candidate will be joining the school at an exciting time. The mixed comprehensive school, which was judged "good" by Ofsted in 2019 is committed to real inclusion and are proud of their newly opened Specialist Resource Provision for ASD students.

All visitors to the school comment on the high standards of behaviour, high levels of student engagement in lessons and the warmth and pride with which students talk about their school.

PA - Secondary School - Richmond upon Thames - Permanent

Job Purpose:

  • To provide a confidential and personal service to the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team (SLT)
  • To devise, maintain and monitor effective administration that enables the Headteacher to fulfil her responsibilities, ensuring workload is prioritised to meet the varied and conflicting needs of the team.
  • To provide a confidential and personal service to the Business Manager with Human Resources administration

Key Accountabilities:

  • PA to SLT, HR administration, Oversight and management of key data management points in Arbor, which will involve liaising with admin officer.
  • Administer Fixed Term Exclusions
  • Provide effective secretarial and administrative support including drafting general correspondence, reports, school policies, mail merges, press releases, invitations and so forth on behalf of the Headteacher with speed and accuracy.
  • Provide the first point of contact for incoming telephone calls and visitors.
  • Screen and prioritise telephone calls and other queries from parents and other parties as well as making phone calls as directed by the Headteacher.
  • Manage the Headteacher 's diary effectively
  • Deal with parental queries in the absence of the Headteacher and decide what matters should be referred to the Headteacher or delegated to others, i.e. a member of Senior Leadership Team, Head of Year, Form Tutor.
  • Preparation of paperwork for governors' meetings
  • Minute taking to include school meetings, confidential hearings and meetings of the governing body in the absence of the Clerk.
  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality at all times, using discretion in providing information both within and outside school
